Compensation Payable
Basis: Under Section 4 of the Employees' Compensation Act, 1923 — Death: 50% of monthly wages (capped at ₹15,000) × Relevant Factor (Schedule IV, by age), subject to a minimum of ₹1,20,000. Permanent Total Disablement: 60% of monthly wages (capped) × Relevant Factor, subject to a minimum of ₹1,40,000. Permanent Partial Disablement: the percentage of loss of earning capacity applied to the Permanent Total Disablement amount. Temporary Disablement: a half-monthly payment of 25% of monthly wages (uncapped, actual wages), payable periodically for the disablement period, not as a lump sum. The Relevant Factor table used here is the exact Schedule IV as notified (Act 22 of 1984, in force from 1 July 1984).
